Dillsburg’s Anthony Macri secured his second consecutive points crown at PA Sprint Car Speedweek presented by Red Robin with a second-place finish Sunday evening at Selinsgrove.

After crashing out of the lead in the Speedweek opener at Williams Grove on June 28, Macri put together a remarkable string of finishes in the remaining eight races that were completed. Macri finished inside the top three in all of those those races, recording three wins, three seconds and two thirds to close out the week. All told, Macri earned $56,430 in purse money and another $6,000 for the point title. That's a total of $62,430 for the nine-race series.

Danny Dietrich, who won Sunday's series finale at Selinsgrove, placed second with 1,306 points to Macri's 1,335.Dietrich rivaled Macri for consistency, as he didn’t finish out of the top 10 in any of the nine races.Dietrich also had three wins for the week to go along with three fourths, a seventh and two eighths.Dietrich earned $39,100 in purse money and grabbed $3000 in point money. He also earned some bonus money. Finishing in the top 10 in all the races earned him the Selinsgrove Ford bonus of $5,000. He also claimed two $500 Lelands.com Knock Out bonuses during the series. That brought his Speedweek total to $48,100.

Hanover’s Logan Schuchart came in off the road to compete in several of the Speedweek races and came away with two wins.Schuchart had won one Speedweek feature years ago before joining the World of Outlaws tour. He won at Grandview on July 2 and Hagerstown on July 4 en route to a 10th-place series finish.

Logan Wagner was the only driver to score his first career Speedweek win during this year’s series. That win last Saturday at Port Royal brought the number of drivers who have won a Speedweek race during its 34-year, 246-race history to 48.

This year’s PA Speedweek attracted a total of 82 different drivers over the course of its nine completed races. Those drivers represented eight states and three countries (USA, Canada and Australia).

One interesting fact is that just over a quarter of the drivers who raced during Speedweek are either native to or have moved to York County. In all, 22 of the drivers who competed are York Countians. Another four live just over the line in the Adams County communities of East Berlin, Abottstown and New Oxford.

With the World of Outlaws and the High Limits Series having the second weekend of Speedweek off, several drivers from those series came here to compete in some of the races. Schuchart and Brock Zearfoss took advantage of the softening of the Outlaws' no-races-against policy for the week to join in some of the Speedweek shows.High Limits drivers Jacob Allen and Spencer Bayston also joined at some shows.

Australian Jessie Attard was one of eight drivers who ran in all nine of the Speedweek shows.Canadian Skylar Gee made most of the shows as well.
