Richard O. Barnhart LEHI- Richard Oscar Barnhart, age 77, of Lehi, died May 6, 1998 in Orem, Utah of cancer. He was born October 28, 1920 in North Loup, Nebraska, son of Alva Bland and Neva Collins Barnhart. Married Ivonne Ruth Helms, August 18, 1946 in Fullerton, Nebraska. He was a supervisor of security at the Utah State Prison.

He served in the infantry during World War II. He had resided in Sargent, Nebraska before moving to Lehi. Member of the Mt. Vista United Methodist Church. Survived by his wife of Lehi; two sons and one daughter, Richard (Elaine) Barnhart, Ft.

Agnes Bishop Agnes Bishop was bor on June 7, 1910, and died on May 2, 1998. The daughter of Hans and Emma Vunder, she hod three brothers and one sister, who all preceded her in death.

She married James William Bishop on July 20, 1929, in Bountiful, Utah. They had two chitdren, James Bishop and Cherrell Jackman. Agnes had six grandchiidren, seven greatgrandchildren, and one great She refired after 20 years working for what as a telephone operator and supervisor. Jackson Elmo Ver Jackson. 89, away on Thursday. May 7, ley Regional Medical Center in Provo. He was bom June 29, 1908 in Mammoth. Juab County, Utah, a son of Alfred Breese and Agnes Hiliman Lewis Jackson.

He married Helen McKenzie on June 7, 1933. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LD.S. Tomple. She died February 17, 1971. He then married Theona Brems Hall on September 30, 1971.

He attended schools in Spanish Fork and Lake Shore and graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1927. He owned and operated a Texaco Service Station until he went to work at Geneva Steel during its construction. He remained at Geneva Steel until his refirement. He enjoyed hunting. fishing, and family activities.

Strawberry was a tavorite fishing and hunt. ing spot. He enjoyed picnics with his family, He was a member of the LD.S. Church and at the lime of his death was a High Priest. He served as a ward clerk and home teacher, Survivon include his wife, of Spanish Fork; one doughter, Kathleen (Doug) Tebbs.

Larry A. Boom "Boomer" Larry A. Boom, October 9, 1934 to May 4, 1998, passed away peacefully at home after visiting with wonderful friends. He was born in Centerville, South Dakota. Served in the Korean War.

After his many travels he finally settled in Salt Lake City where he resided for the last 40 years. He was a very private person. During his time on Earth he touched many hearts and made many friends. He was currently working for Smith's Food King. which he thoroughty enjoyed.

OBITUARIES Scott Lee Christensen Scott Lee Christensen died April 29, 1998 in Portland, Oregon after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was 33 years old. Scott's family extends their heartfelt thanks to his doctors and the ICU staff at St.

Vincent's Hospital for their loving care and relentless efforts in helping Scott during his illness. Scott born on Lee Christensen. He Lake City, 83588 to SuFebruary 1965 in Salt zanne Richard married Monica Schmidt on October 12, 1991. He was a loving and a very proud and children, Chloe and Nate. and devoted husband caring father to his two Throughout his life, Scott was unique in his single-mindedness, striving for excellence in whatever he undertook.

After watching Mark Spitz win six gold medals in the 1972 Summer Olympics, he announced to his parents that he wanted to swim competitively. Three years later he retired at the age of 10 as the State Champion in the backstroke. His interest turned to racquetball, which he played until the age of 16. When he stopped playing competitive racquetball, he was the State Champion in the 16 and under class and ranked in the top five of the State senior class. He played in two U.S.

Junior National Racquetball Championships. During the same time, Scott earned the rank of Eagle Scout. As he began high school, his interest tumed to basketball. He made the sophom*ore team his first year and the varsity team as a junior. in his senior year, he was starting point guard and team captain.

After spending six months in Israel with BYU's Study Abroad program, Scott served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints in the Indiana, Indianapolis Mission. After his mission, he graduated in Business from the University of Utah. Scott began working for Key Bank in Salt Lake City and was later transferred to Portland, Oregon where he met his wife, Monica. He later began working for Mortgage as a Construction Loan His many friends, associates, and customers meant the world to Scott. He often commented what good people they were, how much they meant fo him, and how lucky he felt to be able to be around such people.

Scott was re-introduced to golf after his mission by his dad, which led to a lifetime of enjoyment with his family and friends. His family has accused him of manicuring his lawn as if it were a putting green. Scott leaves many fond memories for his family and friends who shared his passion for golf. Scott is survived by his wife, Monica; children, Chide Kay and Nathan Lee, of Portland, Oregon. In Salt Lake City, Utah he is survived by his parents, Suzanne and Richard Christensen; brothers, Jim (Patti) and Mike (Piper): sisters, Lisa (Creighton) Rider, Kim (Tom) Cronin, Katte (John) logge and Kelly Christensen; grandparents, Paul and Carol Holt; and seven nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held on Saturday, May 2, 1998 in the Lakeridge Ward, Lake Oswego, Oregon. Interment, Riverview Cemetery, Portland, Oregon. A memorial open house will be held in Salt Lake City, UT on Saturday, May 9, 1998 between 12 and 1 p.m. at the Mt. Olympus North Stake Center, 3785 Adonis Drive.

He was born February 3, 1919 in Elsinore, Utah, a son of Lewis Higgins and Margaret Barney Higgins. He married Ethel May Lorensen, May 25, 1938 in Monroe, Utah. He was a heavy equipment operator. Foy is survived by his wife, Ethel of Elsinore; three sons, Marvin Higgins, of Corvallis, Oregon; Gene Higgins, of Brush Parrie, Washington; Kent Higgins, of Elsinore; one sister, Ella Chavis of Monroe.

Funeral service will be Saturday, May 9 at 1 p.m. in the Elsinore LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Friday evening, 7-9 p.m. and at the Ward Chapel in Elsinore, Saturday morning 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. prior to service.

She was 78. She was born December 29, 1919 in Raymond, Alberta Canada to Royal Pratt and Margarita Bentley Skousen. She was raised in San Bernardino, California and married Woodrow Miller on February 5, 1941 in the Mesa Arizona Temple.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints and served in countless teaching and leadership assignments in- years, Relief Society president, stake and ward MIA, public affairs director and Los Angeles Temple worker. She served a Spanish-speaking mission in the Texas San Antonio mission from 1985-1987. She was also active in community and political affairs, serving as president and spokesman for Republican Women, family service volunteer counselor, active in various organizations dedicated to preserving family values, editor of the Freeman Report for several years, served in the Pro-Family Coalition and led a California chapter of Stop ERA (Equal Rights Amendment). She was in demand as a public speaker and lectured throughout California on religious, social and political topics. At age 54, she graduated from BYU with a degree in history.

Rita was co-owner, with her husband, of Callfornia-based Millers Honey Company from 1941-1984. They built a thriving family honeypacking business and she was the company's chief financial officer. Although the Millers divorced in 1976, their relationship remained amicable and they continued as business partners. They eventually sold the business in 1984 to their daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn Mimi and George Murdock. Mr.

Miller died shortly thereafter. In 1994 she was authoress of a book about her father-in-law entitled: "Sweet Journey," Blography of Nephi Miller, Father of Migratory Beekeeping. It commemorated the centennial celebration of the company which started when a Utah pioneer farm boy traded several sacks of oats for a few colonies of honeybees. Despite her many business, religious, civic and political endeavors, her first priority was always her family.
